What you'd be buying
Two ways to look
at this house.
It has been earning as a short-term rental for years. It was also built as a family home, and the layout that makes it work commercially is the same layout that makes it work for a family with people coming and going.
A rental that already works.
This isn't a house someone hopes will rent. It has an operating history on two platforms, a body of guest reviews that took years to build, and a brand and website that come with it.
Reviews are the hardest thing to transfer in this business and the slowest thing to rebuild. A new listing starts at zero and ranks accordingly. This one doesn't.
- 115 guest reviews across Airbnb and Vrbo — 4.89 out of 5 and 10 out of 10 respectively
- Two established listings, both with standing and history on their platforms
- Sold furnished and turnkey — walk in and keep taking bookings without a gap
- The brand and this website convey with the property, including the domain
- A layout that widens the market — the guest wing lets two families book together, which most North Shore rentals can't offer
- Two Level 2 EV chargers, increasingly a search filter rather than a nicety
- Underused seasons — the current photo set is spring only, so fall color and winter have never been marketed properly
Occupancy history, revenue, operating expenses, and the current booking calendar are available to serious buyers on request. Ask and we'll send them.
Room for the people who visit, and the ones who stay.
The reason this house rents well is the reason it lives well. There are three separate places to sit across three floors, so a full house never feels like one.
The wing over the garage is a complete second dwelling — living room, kitchen, full bath, bedroom, its own staircase from just inside the front door. Parents who move in keep their independence. Adult kids come home for a month without anyone losing their mind. It works as a home office, a studio, or a place for long-term guests.
- A true in-law or guest suite that doesn't require walking through the main living space
- Three living areas — the great room, a rec room with its own fireplace, and the guest wing living room
- Wooded acreage with no close neighbors and Lake Superior above the treeline
- 30 minutes to Duluth — commutable — and 36 minutes to the airport
- Three-bay garage with two Level 2 EV chargers and real storage
- The Superior Hiking Trail four minutes away; Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock within twenty
- Rent it when you're away — the listings, brand and site are already built if you want the option
Worth knowing before you visit: this is a three-story house built into a slope, with no bedroom on the main floor. Every bedroom is up a flight or down one. For most families that's the appeal — but if single-level living matters, this isn't the right house, and we'd rather say so now.

Where it is
Back in the woods, ten minutes from town.
The house sits back from Old North Shore Road on wooded acreage, elevated enough that Lake Superior shows as a blue line above the treetops. It is not lakefront, and there is no shore frontage on the parcel. There is a rail line beyond the treeline to the west.
